Agenda
1. Approve notes from May 14 call at https://wiki.folio.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=14452135. No changes suggested.
2. Further thoughts on WOLFcon. None.
3. FOLIO pop-up session at SAA in D.C. in August (see May 14 call notes); other outreach efforts. Erin Faulder is working on the pop-up session proposal and will submit it by the May 31 deadline. She needs volunteers to help co-steer the session. It is important to get FOLIO in front of the SAA community, and vice-versa. Aaron Trehub will start drafting an open comment document for SAA members on Google Docs or the FOLIO Google Drive space.
4. SC&A white paper for FOLIO SIGs. At this point, the best way to keep SC&A issues in front of the FOLIO SIGs is through a white paper. Some of the main areas to cover are Metadata, Discovery, and Interoperability.
5. Other business. There was some discussion of the vendor community's role on the SC&A WG and in FOLIO generally. It is good to have vendors involved, but there has to be an understanding that the FOLIO SIGs and the SC&A WG are not sales venues. That said, vendor involvement in FOLIO can promote a better understanding of context and expectations on both sides. It can also help vendors see FOLIO as a value proposition. In the SC&A area, Sebastian Hammer mentioned that Atlas Systems (the producer of Aeon) is getting involved in FOLIO.
The call ended at 11:20 AM Eastern/10:20 AM Central. The group agreed not to have a call on Monday, May 28, because of the Memorial Day holiday. The next call will be on Monday, June 4 at the same time and Zoom address.
