Member Meeting Planning | Christopher Spalding ; Kemner-Heek, Kirstin | From 2024-10-28 Community Council Meeting MinutesChristopher SpaldingKemner-Heek, KirstinBoaz Nadav Manes, Paul Kloppenborg Maike Osters volunteered to begin to scaffold a structure for regular members meeting in which a clearer definition of membership-added-value is expressed. Various CC members have expressed an interest in better defining the value proposition for administrators as well as focusing on more intentional marketing and fundraising (business case) for the project.
Important: Establish contact with ALL members and potential new members. Intention: Two meeting per year - one via VC, one in person.
Boaz: Proposed the idea of a report focusing on topics related to membership, including the benefits of being a member (organizational member)
Kirstin: Permanent regular group would be fine. SubGroup of CC which organizes the member-meeting. (Members so far: Boaz Nadav Manes , Kemner-Heek, Kirstin Paul Kloppenborg , Joseph Grobelny ).
Kristin: Participation of PC makes sense, Kristin Martin will volunteer

Tri-Council meeting debrief and vote on goal of Eureka migration with Sunflower | Simeon Warner Christopher Spalding | Discussion of https://folio-org.atlassian.net/wiki/x/DwCRJg and vote on whether CC agrees with the goal of community migration to Eureka with the Sunflower release, in step with EBSCO. Voting now is difficult, BVB would abstain. We are working with a very tight project plan, it could be a huge challenge to deal with the migration from okapi to eureka in the coming weeks or months. That would have massive impact on the entire project planning process (edwin)
Other aspects: Costs for maintaining two platforms, feedback of early adopter is missing, decision already made, delaying sunflower by two sprints - will give the okapi-users more time to migrate, ramson works with okapi (and is/will be tested), other aspect the process: communicating the necessity (to technical and non-technical staff) of the migration to Eureka has been, and maybe continues to be, a challenge.

From Slack vote (7 yes votes, no no votes and no abstentions)  The Community Council endorses the report and timeline for adoption of the Eureka platform with the FOLIO Sunflower release. This coordinated approach for a community transition includes a list of requirements that should be met in order for the Eureka migration to proceed. The Community Council asserts that if participants in the early adopter program indicate that any of the requirements are not fulfilled by the planned Sunflower release date, the Eureka transition and Sunflower release should be delayed until all requirements are satisfied.
