Minutes

Development progress

  • current sprint: 165
  • no official announcement yet, but in a meeting was announced that feature freeze deadline for Poppy is delayed until June 16th - that means 1 sprint and a half extra development time
    • wiki page is updated accordingly already
  • work ongoing to various software libraries - probably ready by the end of this week
  • work under way for removing AGLs from agreement edit view to improve performance - will be in Poppy

Finding details of titles that are part of an agreement

  • one relevant question: do we have access to a particular journal - what coverage
  • different situations for users of EBSCO KB/eholdings and internal KB
  • How do users currently find holdings/coverage and URL of a title a library has access to
    • in Germany: EZB, internal Wiki, shared drive - but will change using FOLIO - the more data is added to the connected GOKb, the more libraries will use FOLIO's internal KB
    • HLM for overview, because in eholdings it is a lot of clicking
    • Zorian in chat: Just a general comment about preferences for starting a journal search for coverage in HLM versus eHoldings: I suspect another reason for this is that many FOLIO users have had HLM much longer than they've had FOLIO, and this is a reflection of long established practice
  • What are the scenarios
    • do we have an agreement for a given source
    • who is vendor (to get in touch)
    • what licenses apply
    • what is the coverage/volumes
    • do we have title x
    • is it via a subsription
    • is there an embargo
    • we have no access → why?
      • e.g. T&F packages, titles and access changes regularly
    • to which subject area belongs a title
      • Martina S. in chat: Related to the subject areas: There are plans to record the DDC subject groups in GOKb for package titles, reference titles and packages. Will be part of a future release.
  • to know the details of the package or at least having a link to it seems to be helpful
  • the different scenarios are common and happen in daily business
  • ERM team will think how to best present this data
