Theodor Tolstoy (One-Group.se) From Cate Boerema's notes on this week's visit, it sounds like Chalmers needs a report of overdue items. Is there a reason Chalmers marked this in-app report as Not Needed? I'm not sure where that report and this feature differ.

Good catch, Emma Boettcher. Theodor Tolstoy (One-Group.se) maybe you can follow-up with Siska on this? As I understand it, the reason they need a report of overdue items is to find the ones that are grossly overdue so they can bill for them. It is rare for items to be this overdue which may be why it was marked as not-needed, but I do believe they need to have some way to get a list of grossly overdue items. They probably also need a way to filter out the ones which have already been billed so they can focus on the ones that need to be processed.

We downgraded all in-app reports on the premise that that data would be possible to reach through the reporting tool. I will circle back on it.

Comment by Nassib Nassar [ 28/Jan/19 ]

I think there is possibly some confusion. It is true that both the apps and the reporting system can provide data retrieval, but for two different purposes. The apps access data from a transaction processing database to support day-to-day library operations. The reporting database will be designed for analytical processing and "business intelligence", and generally shouldn't be a primary data source for operational functions, which have different requirements in the quality of service.

Out of curiosity: What if that in-app report requires data from other apps/domains within FOLIO?

Comment by Nassib Nassar [ 28/Jan/19 ]

Hello, yes, I don't think in-app reports are restricted by app/domain. So far, in-app reports have been assumed to be simply features developed in apps, and app features routinely retrieve data from other apps/domains; so I don't see why there would be such a restriction. I think it results from in-app reports originally having been imagined as domain-specific, not that they have to be.

Current planning indicates this feature will not complete in Q1 2019. Changing fix version to Q2.

Comment by Theodor Tolstoy (One-Group.se) [ 20/Mar/19 ]

Downranked this for Chalmers with the understanding that there will be a CSV report to download with the same information.

Comment by Theodor Tolstoy (One-Group.se) [ 20/Mar/19 ]

upranked this one so it will not be forgotten until we have a separate CSV JIRA-ticket.

Comment by Erin Nettifee [ 27/Mar/19 ]

This would be helpful in-app for Duke but only if additional criteria could be added, e.g., by location, tag, etc. Just a list of overdues from a service point would be enormous for many of our desks and so not as useful without being narrowed down.

Cate BoeremaEmma Boettcher - there is a csv overdues report now in snap-shot does this satisfy this ticket?

Comment by Cate Boerema (Inactive) [ 12/Jun/19 ]

Anya the csv overdue report in snapshot now should satisfy Chalmers' go-live requirement, but it is the thin thread for this feature, not the final version of this report. The final version will likely be a more robust "in-FOLIO report" with some filtering capabilities as larger institutions will have too many overdue loans for a simple csv export to work.

So, this feature represents the more robust version of this report. UXPROD-1621 Closed represents the thin thread.

Lisa Sjögren, Siska and Theodor Tolstoy (One-Group.se) can you guys please revise the Chalmers ranking on this? UXPROD-1621 Closed should give you what you need to go live. I would imagine you could wait for the more robust version of the report.

Comment by Theodor Tolstoy (One-Group.se) [ 28/Jun/19 ]

Cate Boerema Lisa Sjögren I removed the rankin on this one so it shows up in our lists of things to rank next week

Comment by Holly Mistlebauer [ 07/Mar/22 ]

This feature will be in DRAFT status until Cheryl Malmborg has a chance to review it.
