Potential Workaround: Cate Boerema: Potential workaround is to make do with the basic search we have in place. Or if we have it, boolean search (UXPROD-1015, which is ranked higher than this one) could offer some more robust search capabilities. Another workaround would be to search in discovery.
Epic Link: Advanced Search (within apps)
Front End Estimate: XXL < 30 days
Back End Estimate: XL < 15 days
Estimation Notes and Assumptions: Assuming we would use CQL to drive advanced search. Backend includes optimizations and additonal features like auto-suggest.

 Description

Ability to do advanced searching within existing apps using a query language or graphic interface. This would apply to apps like Users, Requests, Inventory etc.

NOTE: MARC field searching is out of scope for this epic, as it's covered in the MARCcat epic (the MARCcat app will supply MARC searching)

This early video from Filip introduces the concept: https://discuss.folio.org/t/advanced-searching-discussion/1620

This later post shows some more recent mockups for this feature: https://discuss.folio.org/t/mag-search-patterns-discussion/1699

Closing this as a duplicate. We now have query searching in Inventory and separate features for adding the same to Users and Requests (see linked).

Discussed in RA SIG and no one thought there was a reason to keep this open.
