 Description

Faceted search is the dynamic clustering of items or search results into categories that let users drill into search results (or even skip searching entirely) by any value in a facetable field. Each facet displayed also shows the number of hits within the search that match that category. Users can then “drill down” by applying specific contstraints to the search results.

FOLIO currently supports simple filters. This feature represents the work remaining needed to implement facets.

This will be important in Acquisitions, especially the orders app, where we will have a large list of filters.

Also important to the Tags app, where we only want tag terms to show if the tags are used in the app or search results currently on the screen.

Otherwise you end up with huge lists of countries, languages, and tags.

Changing dev team from Core to Frontside, as this is required by the capacity model. We will make sure the "frontside" team is given some of John C's time in the model.

Duke can wait one quarter - IF we have common command language searching

I added a relates-to link for Elasticsearch EPIC ( UXPROD-2591 Open ), as I think it will ultimately have some bearing on how this could be implemented (if it is still wanted).

This has been done; multiple facets are now available in the inventory UI, so I am closing this feature.
