 Description

Description:
Centralized/shared management of financial operations and data should be possible.

Notes:
Seems like there are multiple options here.
1. All libraries use a single acquisitions instance with good control over who manages a particular set of funds. But then tenants must be updated. Feels like a cross of single and multi-tenant. Could prove difficult to manage.
or
2. All tenants manage their own funds and a central Acquisitions is setup for the consortia entity for centralized purchasing. Records could then be loaded centrally and tenants could harvest their own records. But this leads to questions:
a. Where are items received? Central or directly at each tenant?
b. How are eResources handled?
c. Stats on spend. What do these look like for the consortia and the member tenants? How does money move through the system? What special types of budgets do tenant libraries have?
d. Does the union catalog need to report on item status? If so, not sure any discovery services in the market can search a union and get status from member tenants. It's possible, but it might take a long time (years) before those services catch up. So this implies a tool where tenants can push status to the Union. Also implies holdings and items at the union need to be updated.
e. What else?
