Estimation Notes and Assumptions: * Item status updating mechanism is in place (and this does not involve creating a new type of record for state derivation, if that is the approach we choose)
* Dedicated Check In API is in place (rather than just updating a loan, as currently is now)
* Service point and/or location of check in is already asked for and stored
* Relationship between service points and locations already implemented
* Decided how we determine whether an item is at it’s home [location or service point]
* Includes storage of where an item is and where is it going to during transit

 Description

An item may be checked in somewhere other than its home location. If so, it should be marked in transit and routed to its home location. Users should have the option to print out a transit slip.

While it is in transit, users may also need to know the service point & operator who changed it to in transit & its intended destination.

Will affect screens in check-in, inventory.

Includes modal to alert user to route item.

Hi Emma. In the roundup, we were looking for a feature home for UIU-485 Closed and this seemed like as good as any. If that isn't right, please feel free to move.

Hi Emma. Given where we are in the release, I think there is a good chance this may need to be split. I have labelled it as such.

Removed the will-split label, as the devs say we are tracking for Q4

Hi Emma Boettcher, it's end of quarter and this feature looks nearly complete! Please mark it Closed when the last story passes test. Thanks!
