Comment from March Meeting: Is this just a count field(s) in the item record? Can it just go into reporting instead of the FOLIO item record?

I presume this is full data of previous checkouts (patron, checkout date, due date, return date, etc), rather than just a count of number of time circulated. While some libraries will want to purge this information regularly and only migrate the counts for statistical purposes, others may prefer to keep the data (either in full or anonymized).
