| Description |
|
Current situation or problem: Libraries will need the ability to represent their collections as BIBFRAME resource descriptions in order to build a comprehensive data graph inclusive of these collections. Further, we also expect that libraries will need to support multiple cataloging workflows - namely BIBFRAME and MARC - for some period of time as libraries migrate their operations to a single BIBFRAME-based model. To support these two objectives, we will need to establish interoperability between BIBFRAME and FOLIO SRS
In scope Inbound to BIBFRAME
Out of scope The interoperability will need to be bi-directional, but synching from BIBFRAME to SRS will be addressed in a separate feature ticket

Punnoose Kutty Jacob Pullolickal Anuar Nurmakanov Tetiana Tymoshenko Giorgi Ninua - draft of the "sub" feature we discussed at Refinement earlier today. The intent of this feature is to cover synchronization between FOLIO SRS and BIBFRAME in one direction (SRS --> BIBFRAME). Synchronization covers: new records added to FOLIO SRS; updates made to existing records in SRS; deletions of existing records in FOLIO SRS. I also included duplicate detection as in scope. I can break out this last point if it makes the feature too big. Let me know. |

Hi Doug Loynes I changed this feature title slightly to make it clear that BF means BIBFRAME, not BugFest (which also often gets shortened to BF in the community) Hope that's OK! |
