 Description

Current situation or problem: For requests initiated in Locate and EDS, new end points are needed in FOLIO, in order to provide an optimal UX for the display of available pickup service points.

In scope
Create a new

  • Add new end point at edge-patron
  • Add new end point at mod-patron

Out of scope

  • Additions or corrections to recently developed FOLIO logic
  • Development of additional FOLIO-generated messages (e.g., error messages received by Users in FOLIO and / or Users or patrons in EDS or Locate)

Use case(s)

  • When a patron requests physical material through Locate and EDS, they see and can select from available pickup service points for their request according to FOLIO logic vs. a static list of all pickup service points marked as available by the library.

Notes

  • In Poppy, FOLIO logic will allow libraries to utilize the request policy to determine allowable patron pickup service points. This logic relies on the item or instance and also patron information. Adding these new end points will improve UX in Locate and EDS.
