| Description |
|
Current situation or problem: The BIBFRAME editor will need the ability for catalogers to search for a retrieve resource descriptions / records from a variety of database targets, to support cataloging workflows. Currently the Marva editor does not support discovery. This core functionality will need to be created/added to the application. In scope

Discussed with LC Nov. 15. Base level search covered in feature will be supported in Thin Thread and continue through BIBFRAME Alpha and BIBFRAME Beta. One question raised is how to support querying resources outside of FOLIO, especially OCLC. Open question is how / to what degree catalogers could continue using Z-processor as a means for search and retrieval via Z39.50. |
