NOTE: The ability for a cataloger to retrieve an external record and complete cataloging in Marva is a priority. Currently, the Library of Congress relies on a utility application - ZProcessor - for querying Z39.50 targets, and processing retrieved MARC records to meet custom LC requirements.
As a cataloger, I need the ability to search for and retrieve one (or multiple) resource descriptions from one (or more) external sources so that I can select the best available description, and use that as the basis for creating/deriving a new resource description for my institution's collection.

Questions
- Support specifically for Z39.50-based searching. This is typically used for search and retrieval of MARC records from external resources including national libraries. Open question is whether and to what extent the Marva application should accommodate MARC-based workflows, or whether those workflows are better aligned with quickMARC.
