 Description

Current situation or problem:

FOLIO does not currently have a permission specifically designated to allow for FOLIO users to cancel a fee/fine when it happened in error. Such a permission needs to be created.

In scope

  • UI work such that the option to select Actions > Error for a fee/fine is available only if the logged in user has permission to cancel a fee/fine
  • Back end work such that cancelling a fine via API call is only allowed if the user has permission to cancel a fee/fine

Out of scope

  • Additional changes to cancel fee/fine workflow

Use case(s)

  • Library A wishes to allow all five full-time staff at their desk to accept payment for fines. But, because fines should only be cancelled in rare circumstances, only the department manager has permission to cancel fines.
