 Description

Current situation or problem:

FOLIO supports five different kinds of circulation policies: loan, request, notice, overdue, and lost item.

For each policy, we'd like to be able to provide inline help text similar to how it has been implemented with Acquisitions apps.

In scope

  • UI-only updates to circulation policy view and edit pages to provide help text for specific fields and terminology.

Out of scope

  • Changes to permissions
  • Changes to circulation workflows

Use case(s)

Proposed solution/stories

Links to additional info

  • We want to hopefully re-use the approach used in the Acquisitions apps where a small icon is next to the term, and then you click or tab-enter on the term to view the help text. Example screenshot from the Orders PO Line interface:

Hi Erin Nettifee and Laurence Mini!
I've gone and added a couple of screenshots to show:
_ Where the Help Icon could go for a field that is required (example from a PO line) (Snapshot_Orders_POLine_EditWindow_InfoButtonExampleWithRequired.jpg).
_ Whether an Info button in the Edit window, also shows up in the View pane (Snapshot_Orders_POLine_ViewPane_InfoButtonExamples.jpg). This doesn’t seem to be systematic, so maybe having the Info buttons show in the View pane also has to be an explicit requirement?
