 Description

Current situation or problem: Libraries would like to be able to grant FOLIO users permission to view the locations hierarchy in Settings > Tenant > Locations, but not to allow the ability to create, edit, or delete values.

Currently this is not possible, so a new permission needs to be created. We need one permission that grants view access to all four parts of the location tree.

In scope

  • Creation of one permission that provides view access to Settings > Tenant > Location setup
  • Ability to use drop-downs to search for values in Location setup > Campuses, Location setup > Libraries, and Location setup > Locations

Out of scope

  • Changes to the locations UI like adding new fields

Use case(s)

  • Libraries want non-FOLIO-admin staff to be able to view information on a location such as its associated service point, hold shelf expiration configuration, and name/codes. This will help staff who need to run reports as well as staff who are troubleshooting questions about FOLIO circulation behavior.

Hi Magda Zacharska - non-urgent especially during WOLFCon week, but when you are back from your time off, I'm ready to groom this with Firebird.

Hi Erin Nettifee - I'll ask the developers to review the stories. They will follow up if they have any questions.
