 Description

Description: We would like to have the option of programming a delay between the triggering event and item available notices being sent out like we can for overdue and other notices. A common purpose for the delay is to allow for a reasonable amount of time to move the item from the checkin location to the destination location before notifying the patron that the item is at their pickup location for, well, pickup.

 **

Feature components:

  • As shown in the screengrab from the Settings app below, currently item available notices are always sent immediately after the triggering event (an item is checked in at its pickup location) occurs:

  • This is different from overdue and other notices, which we can program to be sent out after a delay:

  • We would like to have this ability in the case of item available notices as well, since without it patrons (especially those with offices located in the same building as a unit library) sometimes arrive to pick up their books immediately after receiving the notice, before staff have had a chance to finish processing it.

julie.bickle, I noticed this feature in the patron empowerment project. So I moved it to UXPROD for you to review.

Irina Pokhylets I think this would be good to add. It looks like a FOLIO timer mechanism may already exist.

julie.bickle do you think this is something worth pursuing in the Q release? Or, would you prefer another feature for Q?
