Background
In mid-October 2021, Holly was asked by Cornell University Library to review various issues discovered by CUL Access Services staff while using FOLIO. Holly met with various individuals at Olin and Mann libraries and produced the CORNELL ACCESS SERVICES FOLIO OBSERVATIONS & SUGGESTIONS document, which is available at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1lwnZpkiw7G0c3EyObRRnjuV6XVMcFNK1lWUG952sFgI/edit?usp=sharing. This feature is ISSUE #3 from that document and has a priority of HIGHEST PRIORITY.
Overview
The “print by default” settings, which are by Service Point, don’t actually print by default. Instead, if the setting is YES, the “print slip” checkbox is checked in the modal. If it says NO, the “print slip” checkbox is not checked. The user still has to deal with the pop-up. It would be better if the pop-up did not occur unless needed. The settings should control what is printed and what is not. There would need to be a way to intervene and allow the pop-up when needed.
