 Description   

Current situation or problem:

As per Epic UXPROD-3268 Open in some institutions libraries are responsible for managing requests from faculty to publish open access research outputs (typically journal articles or books).

There can be a variety of correspondence with authors, publishers and other parties in relation to a request. To support this, it should be able to add details of correspondence to an Open Access publication request. Correspondence records should be able to record the details of the correspondence including:

  • Who it was with (e.g. Author, Publisher)
  • Current status (e.g. "Awaiting reply", "Response needed", "Closed")
  • A brief description (e.g. "Asked for clarification of request", "Advised to request invoice is sent to library")

The list of correspondence records makes a log of correspondence.

Additionally it should be possible to find Requests with correspondence is a specific state - e.g. "Find all requests that have correspondence where a response is needed" via the Search and Sort of requests

Adding correspondence details, searching for requests based on correspondence status

Out of scope

Direct management correspondence in native systems (i.e. this does not include integration with email, helpdesk or CRM systems etc)
