Purpose/Overview: The ability to export data in a delimited format should be extended to the Invoices app, using the same model implemented in the Orders app. This will provision for the type of reporting required by institutional financial auditors. Requirements/Scope:

We need to have both PO/POL and INVOICE fields export into the same csv file. It's vital for creating spreadsheets for corrections, such as fixing a payment that used the incorrect expense class. Right now, we can identify the problem POLs that need to be 'unpaid' and 'repaid', but cannot provide invoice data needed for making the correction. This is also essential for reporting out POL titles based on payment dates, and displaying paid amounts. |

Lisa Smith if we were able to include invoice data in the current order export do you think that would meet your needs more completely? Or are there still situation where you need to export invoices independently? Eg. For invoices that are not linked to orders. If the key thing is lining orders up with invoices it might make more sense for us to focus on refactoring the order export such that invoice data can be included with the order export. Otherwise, users would be exporting orders and then exporting invoices separately and lining up the data themselves. This would make it easier to get all orders and all invoices but less helpful for lining them up. PS. Thanks so much for taking the time to add your thoughts here! |

Dennis Bridges The filters in the invoice app include paid date, which is not an option currently in the orders app. If we were able to include (and filter by) invoice data, exporting from the order app would be fine. Most times, we need to include payments from a precious invoice paid date range. |

Hi Dennis, since I can not rank I wrote my feedback here: This feature is very important for our library (for calculations and reporting). Like Lisa we need to have both PO/POL und Invoice/Invoice line fields in the same csv file. We need to filter by fund of the invoice line (not fund of the POL) and/or payment date and/or payment status. If this would be possible from the orders app, this would be okay.
Our library staff always link invoices to an order, but I know from other libraries in our network that they don’t always link invoices to an order. So I think, an export of invoices in the Invoice App is also important. |
