 Description

Current situation or problemDescription: We would like information added to the “In transit” pop-up notification which indicates WHY an item should be routed to a given location.

Use case(s)

  • Currently, when you check in an item which should be routed to another location, an “In transit” pop-up notification appears

  • It would be helpful if this pop-up included information about WHY the item is being routed somewhere else. If, for instance, there is an outstanding request on the item with a service point different from the one it is being checked in at as the pickup location, the notice could say the following:

Route A critical edition of John Day’s The parliament of bees / William T. Cocke III. (Book) (Barcode: 31924009661384) to ILR Service Point for pickup. [requested item]

  • If, on the other hand, the item is being routed back to its home location, the notice could look like this instead:

Route A critical edition of John Day’s The parliament of bees / William T. Cocke III. (Book) (Barcode: 31924009661384) to ILR Service Point. [return]

 **

  • This additional information would reduce confusion for the staff processing these materials at Cornell, and possibly other institutions as well.

Which PO should own this change?

Should it be a UXPROD feature?

Thanks for bringing this up, Marc Johnson. I believe this will go to Vega with Cheryl Malmborg as PO. I think it's fine as a small feature. It can be moved later if needed.

Ok, I wanted to raise it due to the conversation about how every non-UXPROD feature must be linked to a UXPROD feature.

Given how this is written up, could it just be moved to UXPROD? It's using the feature template.

Brooks Travis, good point. All set.
