In some institutions libraries are responsible for managing requests from faculty to publish open access research outputs (typically journal articles or books). Typically there is a cost associated with open access publication (for articles the charge is often referred to as "APC" or article processing charges), but increasingly libraries may find that they are entering into agreements (either with publishers directly or via consortium or national deals) that cover both "read and write" options - i.e. traditional access such as granted by a subscription or purchase (read) and open access publication options (write). The publication options in such agreements usually allow for a either discounted or free open access publication for faculty members (with constraints such as total publications per year etc.) Additionally libraries may be responsible for managing dedicated funds for open access publication charges where they fall outside of any existing agreement This Epic is to create an initial application which delivers the ability for libraries to capture and manage and report on open access publications and associated charges. The work will be managed via the Jira projects:
