| Description |

Current situation or problem: When something is checked out (to another person, to a patron's carrel), staff need to check the item in and then check it back out to the patron, rather than having an override pop-up. This happens regularly at Olin because of the faculty and graduate students who have items checked out to their studies and carrels who then wish to take the items home with them. ** In scope Feature components:

Perhaps a small way to help this pain point without doing a ton of back-end work would be to show the username of the item that is checked out on the modal – or, have an override option that doesn't quite do what's described in the ticket but instead you get a button to "check item in?" that would, if clicked, push you into the check-in app to check the item in. That at least would save a few clicks. |
