 Description

Current situation or problem: Would like the ability for FOLIO to recognize a double barcode scan as an alternative to pressing close when a pop-up appears.

Currently barcode scanners can send one of the following keys at the end of a successful scan, “shift”, “tab” or “enter”.  Any key sent other than enter will result in the barcode not being automatically submitted at the end of a scan.

In scope

Requirements:

  • Key combinations should be consistent between the check-in and check-out apps.
  • A key, or combination of keys, [TBD; other than esc] should result in a confirmation click on any modal / popup that currently has focus on the screen.
  • This key combination should activate whatever key has been highlighted as the default option for the modal /popup.
  • Esc should result in a request to close the modal / popup or result in a negative confirmation click.
  • The cursor should return to the Scan item text box.
  • Overrides should have a separate hot key, or combination of keys, for the override button.
  • Esc – close the override modal
  • TBD, confirmation key – activate the ‘View more details’ button
  • TBD, override key – activate the ‘override’ button
