| Description |
|
As a Librarian I want to be able to search and filter the custom fields I have added to my users's records. Some fields need keyword searching, others a filter. |

patty.wanninger, do you know if this feature has seen any movement for an upcoming release?

Molly Driscoll This feature is awaiting prioritization to get it to a dev team. It is front end only but as user management has no dev team we always have to compete with other features for resources. So this is stuck for now. Khalilah Gambrell Can this be tagged as UX only? |

Understood, thanks patty.wanninger! I'm working with Wellesley College and they are very interested in this development. It's also been asked in my discussions with Lafayette College. Both are planning to go live next spring/summer. |

patty.wanninger, can you contact Holly (Prokopovych PO lead) to see if this is a story that dev team can review? That team does own ui-users/mod-users modules and may have capacity for an upcoming release. |

patty.wanninger and Holly Mistlebauer and Zak Burke, I am concern about performance if we implement this feature. Has that been considered? Or should this wait for implementing Elastic Search? cc: Oleksiy_Lemeshko |

Khalilah Gambrell, some form of "search by custom fields value" has been available since March when we added the ability to specify a custom-fields value as a checkout ID as part of
All that said, I would welcome more thorough/more formal performance testing to confirm this. As is said, "The plural of anecdote is anecdotes, not data." If we want real performance data, we need to do some real tests. |

Zak Burke: What should our next step be? |
| Comment by Zak Burke [ 22/Dec/21 ] |
|
Holly Mistlebauer, I was responding to Khalilah Gambrell's performance concerns. I am saying "anecdotal evidence so far is that we don't need to be concerned and I would be comfortable going ahead with the implementation as-is" but I wouldn't object if a PO said, "Anecdotes are not good enough; we need real data." So, next step is up to you (or KG, or other POs). If you want more testing, you should figure out how to organize that (maybe PTF team can help?) or you can go ahead with this impl as-is. |
