 Description

Allow the mapping of variable tokens in field mapping profiles

Sample tokens:

  • Today's date (in tenant's localized date format) ###TODAY### (or some other syntax)
  • Current time (in tenant's localized time and format) ###TIME### or ###CURRENT_TIME###
  • User ID ###USER_ID###
  • Import job profile name ###JOB_PROFILE_NAME###

Use cases

  • To record details about an import as a MARC modification
    • e.g. add 950 // $a"Profile used: ###JOB_PROFILE_NAME### ###TODAY### ###CURRENT_TIME### ###USER_ID###" $5NcD
    • 950 //$a Profile used: Import Films on Demand 3/31/21 11:19 AM abreaux $5 NcD

TBD

  • Exactly which tokens
  • Syntax:
    • tokens inside quotation marks or not?
    • existing ### convention or something else?
  • Additional use cases

I'm was looking through the various UXPRODS for the pointing exercise when I noticed the Use Case only mentions the token being imported as part of the MARC mapping.  I would also want it available in the field mapping profile itself.  E.g., an internal note that is added to all item records.
