 Description

Current situation or problem: From time to time, a library may want to create Inventory records from their order that they do not want to be immediately discoverable by patrons. Currently, staff have to open the order (to create the Inventory records), click on the title to navigate to the Inventory record, then select the suppress from discovery box on the instance, hlding, and/or item record. This process could be streamlined by adding the suppress from discovery option to the inventory creation configuration for a particular order.

Out of scope

Use case(s): A library wants the efficiency of automatic Inventory creation from the order record. However, they do not want the Inventory records to be discoverable until materials are received.

This scenario may be more prevalent in former Sierra libraries where record suppression was included on the order record.

Proposed solution/stories: Add the the suppress from discovery option to the inventory creation configuration for a particular order.

Dennis Bridges, once developed, is this an attribute that could be mapped for the GOBI API integration?

Molly Driscoll With only development work on the FOLIO side It could be mapped using a local data field on the GOBI side (I believe there are only 4 possible local data fields in GOBI and MSU might be running out already.

This would require us to update the mapping configuration within the scope of this feature as well.
