Stephanie Buck, Duke spent some time with our local SMEs looking at the circ log in one of our environments that now has loan data. People were very excited to see it. One question that came up is whether we are planning for the ability to search the circulation log by username or external ID, in addition to their barcode. I wonder if a way to approach that is rather than changing the user barcode functionality, to add the user lookup modal (like appears in the check out app), so that if SMEs are in that app, know the name of the user but not the barcode, they could look it up from within the app, and have it autofill their barcode. That way they don't have to switch apps to accomplish what they are trying to do. Glad to chat more - just wanted to add this to the feature while it was fresh in my mind. |

Erin Nettifee, that's a great idea. I'll work on a story for it. Firebird is at max capacity for R1, so it's more likely to be included in a later release. |
