 Description

Current situation or problem:
Before items can be shipped from the owning site to the borrowing site in an INN-Reach request, the item must be checked out and an "Item Shipped" notification sent to the Central Server with the required item information.

In scope

  • Method for associating loaned items with a local user/patron at the owning site.
  • UI/UX for processing these checkout actions.

Out of scope

Use case(s)

Proposed solution/stories
Provide a dedicated UI for processing checkout/ship transactions, where the item is scanned in and associated with the relevant INN-Reach request. This interface would then create the local loan to the relevant institutional user/patron account and notify the Central Server that the item has been shipped as required by the D2IR APIs.

Questions

  • Would it be possible to manage these transactions via the built-in checkout UI?
