 Description

Current situation or problem:
When an item on loan via INN-Reach is recalled by a patron at the owning site, the owning FOLIO site must notify the central server so it can initiate a recall at the borrowing library. To accomplish this, the INN-Reach module will need to be notified that a recall has been initiated.

In scope

  • A method to notify the INN-Reach module(s) when a recall has been placed on an item.

Out of scope

  • Handling recalls for INN-Reach items borrowed by local patrons.

Use case(s)

Proposed solution/stories
In order to properly update contributed item records, the INN-Reach modules will already need to be aware of new page and hold requests placed on an item. A general notification of all new requests should be sufficient. The INN-Reach module can then evaluate the request to determine if it is a recall before initiating the proper call to the central server.
