 Description

*Adlam* is a Unicode block containing characters from the Adlam script, an alphabetic script devised during the late 1980s for writing the Fula language in Guinea, Nigeria, Liberia, and other nearby countries.
— Wikipedia entry for Adlam

See Version of Unicode supported by FOLIO? on Discuss for the initial discussion of support. Charles attempted to load a MRC file with Adlam code points:

The steps that I took in the Goldenrod release were to (1) go to Data Import, (2) choose files, (3) select 13155553.bib, and (4) run ‘Test’.

Note—be sure that your browser and operating system support Adlam before beginning development and testing. I found that Firefox and Safari on MacOS didn't work, but Firefox on Windows 10 (build 1903 or higher) works. The best way to test is to go to the Wikipedia page and see if the code points are rendered as actual glyphs or as squares.

Hi Peter Murray The only issue in this feature is closed now. Is it OK to close the feature? Note that the attached file had problems with the Leader. When the leader was corrected, the file loaded fine.

I've posted a follow-up to Discuss to ask Charles if the issue is addressed (based on the comments in https://folio-org.atlassian.net/browse/MODDATAIMP-332).

OK - thanks Peter Murray. I've changed the status of this feature to In review

Hi Peter Murray Did you ever hear back from Charles about this? I'm going to go ahead and close it. We can reopen, or add a bug if anything else is required. Thank you!

I haven't heard back; closing sounds good. Thanks for shepherding this through the process!
