 Description

At the ACE library, only the last five years of journals are stored on open shelves. Older issues/volumes are stored in closed stack.

This means that once a year, we need to be able to bulk edit the location of items representing volumes/issues older than five years. Since we specify location on the holding level, we would do this by moving the items from a holding record with location Open shelves to a holding record with location Closed stacks.

Hi Lisa Sjögren - this issue ( CHAL-144 Blocked ) is not split out of the work done on UXPROD-137 Closed , and has gotten it's own scoped feature for Bulk updates of relink of items.

Quick question: Do you plan to do this in the UI of Inventory, or are you maintaining this in the LIBRIS (Union Catalogue).
Why I ask is because in so many ways the metadata management workflow Chalmers has is very similar to GBV's use of CBS (Union Catalogue). And here we have developed a new module: mod-inventory-update, which handles updates in general, and also move of holdings/items (see: UXPROD-2268 Closed ).

Hi Charlotte Whitt! Great!

We plan to do this in the UI in Inventory.

Hi Kelly Drake - I have assigned this ticket to you. I hope that's okay. Thanks.

Just to clarify, at Duke we move batches of item records between holdings at different frequencies (or often) and not just for journals.  Please let me know if moving big batches of items for non-journals is described elsewhere.  For example, we move items when transferring between libraries, for remote storage functions, etc.  Thanks for any help.

Moving LC1 label from epic to defining features with Caitlin Stewart permission.

Hey Magda Zacharska - is this applicable to Bulk-edit?

Hi Khalilah Gambrell - yes it is and it is partially addressed in UXPROD-3523 Closed , UXPROD-3704 Closed , UXPROD-4252 Open ) (changing locations) - changing holdings assignment can be done in scope of this ticket.
