 Description

If renewal of an item would succeed, don't wait for the patron or a staff member to renew it - automatically renew it.

In the absence of automatic renewal functionality, is there a known way to bulk edit loan dates via API? I'm thinking about the need for response in library closures, as evidenced by the pandemic response.

I wrote a script for this: https://github.com/FOLIO-FSE/FOLIO-backup-and-restore/blob/master/service_requests_tools/extend_open_loans.py
It might have side effects, but it seems to have worked pretty well for Chalmers.

We are considering changing loan policy to 14 days with automatic renewals, thus would like this functionality in FOLIO. If this is what this issue is about, we rank it high.
