 Description

CW: Work continued from UXPROD-1893
Please note: the libraries ranking is transfered to this feature, while no need to do a new round of ranking

Overview: Wrap-up work on implementation of preceding and succeeding titles in the Instance record.
In Q4 2019 a very thin thread implementation with linking to existing UUIDs were implemented ( UXPROD-1893 Closed ), BUT this does not solve the problems with adding preceding and succeeding titles which is not part of the collection.
The very thin thread must be improved with look up functionality, exactly as implemented in the Orders app.

Out of scope:
Search on preceding and succeeding titles.

Hi Charlotte Whitt is this feature dev-ready? If so, please mark Analysis complete.

Hi Charlotte Whitt I just scanned the stories here and I think they may need some more work. I am not clear as to why there are two stories for each element. At this point, I think it would probably be best to just have one story for each element including everything you want to see. UIIN-641 Closed and UIIN-640 Closed are close, they just don't cover the ability to enter a title without selecting from the list of titles in inventory. I think you need to write some scenarios around that explaining:

  • How do you enter a title that's not in Inventory?
  • Are the other data elements (Instance HRID, ISBN, ISSN) editable when you manually enter a succeeding title?
  • What does the edit page look like when there is a manually entered title and a title selected from Inventory? The mockups are not all that helpful
  • You probably want to mention the Instance field in the PO Line Item form and to model your mockups around that to the extent possible

I'm going to put this feature back in Draft for now.

Hi Charlotte Whitt I see you did some rework of the stories here but two of the four are still in Draft (which makes sense because they don't yet explain what happens when you add a title without selecting from Inventory). I wouldn't say this feature is analysis complete, though, since the main stories aren't done. Not trying to be a stickler. I'm just trying to plan the next work and I need to have a clear picture of what is truly dev-ready.
