 Description

This was requested by Annalisa Di Sabato. Currently it seems you can only specify library opening and closing hours on the hour or half hour (e.g. 10:00 or 10:30). Some institutions (e.g. BNCF) have libraries that open and close on the quarter hour (e.g. Library is open from 8.15 AM to 6.45 PM).

This is a requirement for the University of Chicago too. Our busiest service point closes at 15 minutes before the hour.

Comment by Erin Nettifee [ 11/Oct/19 ]

Cheryl Malmborg would it be a problem then to simply have the calendar close at :30 then, instead of :45? Giving a 15 minute window?

Not disagreeing with the feature, but wondering if that would work if this was not part of 2020 MVP.

Comment by Cheryl Malmborg [ 13/Oct/19 ]

Erin,
The problem is that hourly due date/times are based on the opening and closing hours of the library. The calendar needs to match our real service hours.

Comment by Erin Nettifee [ 14/Oct/19 ]

No, I understand what you're wanting - but there's nothing that says that the FOLIO due-date calendar has to match your actual building hours, other than institutional practice. You could do a :30 due date with a :15 minute grace period, it would effectively accomplish the same thing, but it would change what your patrons are told, that is true.

Add priority 3 and fix version Q2 2020 based on BNCF and Chicago needs.

Annalisa, can you comment on how important this is to BNCF? Are you planning to go-live July, 2020 and do you need the calendar in minutes then? Chicago can live with the calendar library hours not matching our real hours for a short while.

Comment by Annalisa Di Sabato [ 17/Jan/20 ]

Dear Cheryl Malmborg,
also BNCF can wait for this feature. it's not important to go-live at the moment.

Hey steven turner - Does the Calendar app refactor address this feature?

Handled by the new Calendar app
