 Description

Current situation or problem:

  • FOLIO presents check out modals in reverse order of severity: the multipiece modals and check out note modals are presented before information about whether the item is not loanable
  • FOLIO does not allow for override if patron is trying to check out item that is requested by another patron

In scope

  • Allow for override if patron
  • Revise order of check out modals so that any information about whether or not a patron could check out that item (if another patron requested it, if the loan policy says it is not loanable) is presented before check out notes and multipiece modals
  • Handling of multiple overrides (request overrides and non-circulating overrides)
    • Presented in same modal?
    • User enters two notes, or one?
    • How handled with other overrides, like override of patron blocks or expired user?

Questions

  • UI handling of multiple reasons the item cannot be checked out to that patron - Darcy Branchini and Vega have done some work in this area
    • request override
    • item block override
    • loan policy says it's not loanable override
    • session-level overrides: patron block override, patron is expired/inactive
