 Description

Overview: Wrap-up work on the Instance record. Parts of the Instance record as of Q4 2018 were only following thin-thread and half-baked implementation of identified missing metadata elements. Work will focus on

  1. Instance: Implement preceding and succeeding titles

Purpose:

  1. Implement the elements to support migration
  2. Implement linking between the current record and it's related records
    • preceding title
    • succeeding title

Out of scope:
Search on preceding and succeeding titles. Needs further input from SMEs. Can be postponed to later work on Advanced search.

Thanks for breaking out this feature, Charlotte Whitt We need to clear out the implementer rankings when we split (this is per PC request).

This is 'most have/needed' for the mvp - discussed with the MM-SIG on 7/18/2019.

I cleared out the rankings on these split off features as, per PC request, it is our policy not to carry over rankings when we split.

Comment by Andy Horbal [ 05/Aug/19 ]

We (Cornell) think that this is important for RA folks.

From Chicago: Can wait for turning the data into an active link, but require the population an display of the data at go-live.

+1 to Kristin from ZBW/GBV.

Putting this back into draft as there are technical questions blocking development

Comment by Charlotte Whitt [ 19/Aug/19 ]

Cate Boerema Marc Johnson - Niels Erik Nielsen has pretty much sketched how to solve this - in the conversation we had Saturday (8/17/2019).
Let's get this story back in Open state - all the underlying jiras are Open, and Dev ready.

Comment by Cate Boerema (Inactive) [ 19/Aug/19 ]

I think we should discuss this before getting started. Marc Johnson has some open questions still

Comment by Tom Wilson [ 10/Sep/19 ]

For Alabama, part 1 (implement the elements to support migration) is go-live, part 2, can wait - up to 1 year.
