 Description

Excluding records that are suppressed in the patron catalog is common criteria for many reports. Typically, we only want to report on records that patrons can actually see and find when they are using the catalog. At the same time, we may need to select suppressed records at times for diagnostic reporting. Suggested priority P1.We may need to report only on suppressed records at times, so what is needed is a toggle or filter to show or not show suppressed records in reports. Suppression functionality is in Inventory and Source Record Storage. See Staff Suppress and Discovery Suppress.

Because this is a field in FOLIO data, this just needs to be hard-coded into the queries. It doesn't sound like a special feature of the LDP.

Question from Chicago: Is this really required as a functional element? I would think that a discoverySuppress parameter in a query would allow for the same functionality?

Comment by Sharon Beltaine [ 26/May/20 ]

Excluding suppressed records from the catalog will be covered in each report query that requires it.
