 Description

Many holdings records are similar (same location, loan type etc).

The possibility to duplicate holdings is implemented, but libraries has also expressed a need for defining customizable Holdings templates to make holdings CRUD easier.

Usecases raised by Chalmers:

  1. To simplify and streamline the workflow for adding holdings.
  2. Using minimalistic holdings templates defined by the library, to keep staff, when adding holdings from having to navigate through dozens of fields that the library never use.

Tasks:

  • Discuss this topic with the MM-SIG (TBD)

Documentation - input from Lisa Sjögren:

Charlotte Whitt This is feedback from Chalmers. This is high priority for them. Please review and determine next step (finalize into a story, mark as will not implement, need more info, delete, etc.). The label chalmers_debut_followup helps us keep these issues all findable as a group.

FC: More important to the template holdings, than an instance.

Ann-Marie Breaux - this is rated as:
Rank: Chalmers (Aut 2019): can wait - up to a quarter after go-live

But if I read your comments right, then this has changed (as of May 2019)?

Hi Charlotte Whitt I think it's best for Lisa Sjögren Marie Widigson and Siska to review and decide if they want to change their ranking from can wait up to a quarter to go-live, so copying them.

Hi Charlotte Whitt and Ann-Marie Breaux!

We are happy with our current ranking.
While it is a high priority for us to have good functionality for configurable holdings templates, we can live without it for a few months.

Hi Charlotte Whitt I was just looking through my features and came across this one. Should this be assigned to me? I think it may have accidentally gotten reassigned from you to me. OK to change it back to you?

Comment by Charlotte Whitt [ 11/Jun/19 ]

Hi Ann-Marie Breaux - yes, I signed it back to me

Thank you Charlotte Whitt! Apologies if I accidentally appropriated it somehow.

Comment by Charlotte Whitt [ 11/Jun/19 ]

no worries Ann-Marie Breaux

Comment by Marie Widigson [ 11/Nov/20 ]

As we use the wonderful order templates and don't see the urgent need for this feature anymore, we change our ranking from R2 to R4 for this issue.
