 Description

Implement new functionality in Holdings records

  • add and re-order holdings statements - UIIN-xxx

Notes:
This will require a component (Stripes Force) for reuse of this add and sort feature in other record types, like Item record, Container records, and possible other apps.

For Chalmers, the base line requirement here should be that FOLIO maintains a predictable order among Holdings statements.
When Holdings are added through the API from a script, FOLIO should honor the order in the Holdings statements arrays as they were received.

any UI functionality for ordering is regarded as a nice-to-have.

Charlotte Whitt, do you need the ability to sort the display of holdings statements? Is that the feature intent?

Khalilah Gambrell - yes - the current functionality is, if you add holdings statement, then it's added as the last statement, after the existing ones.

In my example then the two new statements should be ordered in chronology order/logic order for the eye
* v.88:no.6-11 (2002:July-Dec)
* v.88:no.1-5 (2002:Jan-Jun)

Should be in following order:
v.70-84 (1984-1998)
v.85:no. 1-11 (1999:Jan.-Nov.)
v.87:no.1-9 (2001:Jan.-Sept.)
v.88:no.1-5 (2002:Jan-Jun)
v.88:no.6-11 (2002:July-Dec)
v.89:no.2-12 (2003:Feb.-Dec.)
v.90-95 (2004-2009)

The SMEs has asked for this to be something editable, by using drag and drop

Thanks much Charlotte Whitt. Will the dates ever be used for filtering holdings?

Discussed with Joseph Reimers Ryan Taylor WRT needing to resequence holdings statements within a holdings record.

  • Came up in community Acq discussion recently, and may be needed by LOC
  • Possibly add up/down arrows in the edit screen, similar to quickMARC.
  • Also checking with POs to find where we use click-and-drag to resequence in FOLIO
  • If we do this, would need to implement for each of the 3 sections of holdings statements
  • Thunderjet would need to implement separately for recent receipts, since that data is referred to inventory from receiving app and not stored in Inventory
  • Question: would this be UI only, or would there be a BE component?
  • For good examples in Bugfest, search these these HRIDs: in2386991, in794997, in190451

See attached existing FOLIO options:

  • quickMARC resequence arrows.png (works, but have to pay careful attention, and can only move one position at a time)
  • Request queue resequence click-and-drag.png (more GUI-friendly, quicker than moving one position at a time, but a pattern that is not yet used in Inventory)
