Hi Charlotte Whitt. I think this should probably be assigned to you, right? The description suggests we weren't sure if it should be you or Wayne, but Wayne isn't playing the role of PO, so I think it's got to live with you. If you agree, can you please assign it to yourself?

Per discussion with Charlotte, the linked data discussion hasn't started so she suggests post-v1 for now. Still need to establish the working group. Perhaps in a few months the requirements can start up.

Hi Cate Boerema - here my conversation with Lisa Sjögren (as we talked about earlier today) re. supporting links to e-content, incl. her list of relationships terms added as attachment:

Hi Charlotte,

Here are some examples of links that we currently have in our records. I had less success in finding or coming up with a good list of terms for link type, and got more confused the more I thought about it, but wrote down some of my reasoning in the document – maybe you or the SIGs can make sense of it.

I wish you a nice weekend!

Best regards,
Lisa Sjögren

super Lisa

I just created a Zoom meeting invite: https://zoom.us/j/322625280
Besides the Inventory UXPROD-153 Closed , then maybe we also could touch base on UXPROD-920 Closed on Codex app.

Thanks.
Talk to you tomorrow.

Best

Charlotte

Hi Lisa,

Should we schedule a quick call on Zoom tomorrow?
Would 10 am (Sweden time) work for you?

Best

Charlotte

Hi Charlotte,

Theodor assures me he hasn’t had any new children lately, so he should be back in a couple of weeks.

Myself, I will be on vacation 20/7-3/8, and so am extra happy to answer any questions this week or the next.

A call sounds like a good idea, I am available both today and tomorrow.

Best regards,

Lisa

Hi Lisa,

Thank you for getting back so quickly. I got a reply back from Theodor, that he's on paternal leave - so I got a little worried.

I admit that UXPROD-153 Closed is vague, but that's because the intention was, to gather requirements together with the MM-SIG Linked Data working group; which never got settled, due to we all thought this would be postponed for post-v1.

I'm thinking if it might would be easier if you and I did a quick call and discussed how to solve this - maybe a call today or tomorrow? Then I could go over with you, the misc. data elements we have identified as Missing elements to implement (beta and gap analysis), and we could discuss whether these elements match the need Chalmers have for migrating and maintaining data as link to table of contents, full texts etc.

Implementation of identified missing elements in instance, holdings, and item records are all defined as Q3 2018 ( UXPROD-122 Closed , UXPROD-123 Closed , UXPROD-124 Closed ).

Thanks.

Best

Charlotte

Hi Charlotte!

I e-mailed Holly an updated version of the spreadsheet just a few hours ago, where we’ve adjusted our replies to some of the features but not to this one. I will try to explain our reasoning.

While we understand that integrating Linked Data into FOLIO is a project that lies in the future, we do not really consider what is described in UXPROD-153 Closed as a Linked Data issue. Having links to “e.g. table of contents, full texts” in bibliographic records seems like really basic functionality that you would expect from any digital library catalog.

Additionally, since it is actually already possible to add URLs into a instance record, it seems reasonable that you should be also able to define these URLs somehow, by giving them a name or a type.

That said, we did find the scope of the feature as specified in JIRA rather vague, so if you could clarify it a bit to us we might be persuaded to go back and discuss it again.

Best regards,
Lisa Sjögren

Cate Boerema, as input to the capacity plan for Q4 2018; then I recommend: when UIIN-287 Closed is done, then we close this UXPROD-153 Closed feature as done too. UIIN-287 Closed lives also under the hood of UXPROD-1106 Closed (part 2 of the refinement of the Instance record).

Comment by Charlotte Whitt [ 02/Oct/18 ]

Hi Cate Boerema - this UXPROD should we keep on the Q4 2018. See the email exchange above with Lisa Sjögren. When UIIN-287 Closed is done, this one will be closed as well.

When UIIN-287 Closed is done, this one will be closed as well.

Then it sounds like this is a duplicate of UIIN-287 Closed . Let's close it as such.

In general, we really need to keep our features independent of one another, otherwise we are double-counting effort.

Comment by Charlotte Whitt [ 02/Oct/18 ]

Hi @Cate - this is a UXPROD feature, and the implementation is in UIIN-287 Closed . So this is the 'linking' between: UXPROD and UIIN.
The thing is: that a couple of the stories you have commented on this morning are feature oriented updates of the Inventory records - and then we have UXPROD-122 Closed , UXPROD-1106 Closed , UXPROD-123 Closed , UXPROD-124 Closed listing all the needed work (reorder, and implement identified 'missing' elements from the GAPS analysis (which did not focus on feature by feature, but on readiness for migration).
I have it all covered - and will be doing all the necessary closing etc. so we keep Jira structured and tidy
