| Description |

As a user who is searching in Inventory From the item record, there will be a "Create request" option which will open the request create form with the Item details pre-populated. This feature will be especially useful, as we don't yet have the item search and select popup implemented in the Request form. That feature is planned and is covered in

Zak Burke can you please estimate this when you have a minute? I believe it's ui-only |

Zak Burke, just following up on this. Can you please add an estimate? We need it for the cap planning. Please let me know if this doesn't look like it's ui-only. Thanks! |

Hi David García Sánchez - did you decide what to do about this 'action menu' option and/or button in the Item record (

Hi Charlotte Whitt talking with Filip we have thought it would be a good idea to have the action as a button in the accordion and in the pane header as well. I will attach examples for Inventory screenshots and Users too. |

Thanks David García Sánchez. So, if I'm understanding correctly, you are proposing four changes:
I think we can easily do #2 and #3. #1 is interesting, but a larger change than is needed to solve this problem. As far as I know, we don't currently have a requirement to list out all the open request on an item. A count with a link to the pre-filtered requests app (which we already have) is sufficient. Finally, change #4 is not possible. You cannot manually create a loan - you need to check an item out using the checkout app. I think, if we are going to start adding these options to the pane header dropdown, we need to add an option to "Create request" from the user record pane header dropdown, as well. Can you please replace the "Add loan" option in that mockup with "Add request"? You included a couple of screenshots that didn't look changed: Create new fee/fine and Create request. Were those included for any particular reason? |

Hi Cate Boerema you have understood everything correctly. Talking with Filip we thought it would be a good idea to add a section whenever we need to create something from that record. So in this case we have added the "Request's section" because we need this button to go directly to the "New request" screen. And we have thought to add this function in the pane header as well. But anyway the idea of the pattern is to add a section whenever we need to create something related to that section when it's needed to display some information related to what we are creating. I will update the pane header dropdown to "Add request" instead of "Add loan". Regarding to the other screenshots I have just added them to show where you go when you click in these dropdowns but maybe that is already clear so I will remove them. Thanks for your comments! |
