 Description

Purpose: Implement link in the Instance record to SRS and the original MARC21 format data record created in WeCat. If the instance record is created in the WeCat Cataloguing editor, then the MARC record is maintained in WeCat.

Charlotte Whittcould this link be to other Cataloging apps as well? Like Web based cataloging apps outside of FOLIO?

Hi Theodor Tolstoy (One-Group.se). Since Charlotte Whitt is on vacation, I am monitoring her features for questions.

I do not believe there are plans to link to other cataloging apps. I think you can assume this feature is about MARCcat, only.

When a MARC bib record is imported into folio, that imported record (the "source record") is stored ( UXPROD-128 Closed ) and a folio Instance record is created. This feature is about making sure that you can link from one to the other. So, for example, if you search Codex or Inventory and locate an Instance record, you can quickly link to/open up the full MARC record. It will also be possible to edit that MARC record, but that is out of scope for this features (see UXPROD-894 for more details on that).

Just a thought:
I have the feeling that this kind of linking should be something that depends on the record and should be configurable / automatic somehow. Going forward, there might be many ways of editing MARC

But that is another discussion. Thank you again for clarifying

Makes sense, Theodor Tolstoy (One-Group.se)!

Hi Tiziana Possemato - in the instance record, we'll implement the possibility to choose 'edit in MARC' by clicking in the action menu in the pane header. Do you know what syntax to call (URL) - maybe something like:
http://....../instance-storage/instances/5b1eb450-ff9f-412d-a9e7-887f6eaeb5b4/marccatsource-record/marc-json???

Removing Q1 2019 fix version due to limited capacity in Q1 2019.

Hi Ann-Marie Breaux - with all the latest changes and updates in UXPROD-149 Closed , UXPROD-1396 Closed , UXPROD-1397 Closed , UXPROD-1447 Closed , UXPROD-1557 Closed , UXPROD-1575 Closed , UXPROD-1595 Closed , UXPROD-1596 Closed - I think this feature can be deprecated. Do you agree?

Just wanted to follow up on Charlotte Whitts comment above. Ann-Marie Breaux do you think this feature can be deprecated?
