Charlotte Whitt, should we break this feature into two? One for MARC source record storage (assigned to you) and another for searching by all MARC fields (assigned to Tiziana)?

Hi Cate Boerema, yes, that would make sense. I can do the split - see new feature: UXPROD-453 Closed

Can we change the title of this story to something narrower, then, like "Store MARC records in blob - in Inventory"? The search part would fall into Tiziana's story, I assume. Because Inventory has its own search already. Make sense?

Cate Boerema - done

Charlotte Whitt do you think it makes sense for this to continue to live within Inventory assigned to you since you already started on it? Or should we hand this off to Ann-Marie?

Comment by Charlotte Whitt [ 05/Jun/18 ]

This one is about the Generic bib storage - and not that much about the MARC batch loader (witch is the focus Ann-Marie has).

Is the title a bit misleading or will the records actually be stored in inventory app? I was under the impression that it should be stored outside of Inventory?

Comment by Cate Boerema (Inactive) [ 19/Jun/18 ]

True, I think this feature was written before it was decided that records would be stored in mod-source-storage per the diagram here: https://docs.google.com/drawings/d/1KEhJRJeEEeH1_hVZqE01oXGd3IdtU_L1pH8g0DTaXQk/edit I think we can remove the "in Inventory" part of the summary. Charlotte Whitt, I'll go ahead and do it since you are on vacation.

Thank you Cate Boerema

On behalf of UA, we want to know are these records in a "BLOB" ? or somekind of FOLIO specific data format?

Comment by Wayne Schneider [ 21/Jun/18 ]

Please note that the link shared above by Charlotte and Cate is a link to an old copy of the batch load diagram. The diagram as shared with metadata management is here:

The old document is about to go away

patty.wanninger – the expectation is that the data will be stored in a way that it can be round-tripped – whatever the format (MARC-in-JSON seems a likely candidate, but we could also just store a binary blob, I suppose), you should be able to get out what you put in.

Niels Erik Nielsen Wayne Schneider - do we have any test blob records which we can link to from instance records in Inventory?
