Sprint: Prokopovych - Sprint 125

Release: R3 2021 Bug Fix
Affected Institution:
MI State University/Library of Michigan, Okanagan College, St. Michael's College
Tester Assignee: Charlotte Whitt

 Description

Overview: In the Inventory app, if a user decides to sort search results by the 'Publishers' column, the sort appears to work, but then are not alphabetical. This happens both with ascending and descending sort.
Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Log into https://bugfest-juniper.folio.ebsco.com/
  2. Open the inventory app.
  3. Perform a search for 'medicine'
  4. Click the header to the Publisher's column.

Expected results: The results should sort alphabetically A-Z.

Actual results: Looks successful for the first two pages then alpha-sort no longer works.

  1. Click the header to the Publisher's column again.

Expected results: The results should sort alphabetically Z-A.

Actual results: Appears to be a random sort.

Additional Information: First reported by Washington College (implementing, currently on Iris HF 3.2) but reproduced in other library environments (all Iris) and Juniper Bugfest.

Charlotte Whitt, UIIN used mod-inventory in Juniper and will use mod-search (ES) in Kiwi. This ticket is specific to Juniper. Are you asking for this to be included in a hotifx? If yes, OK. If no, please close this as won't do.

Its companion ticket, UIIN-1657 Closed , describes a related problem that is specific to Kiwi. Perhaps that one too, should be added to this sprint, or a near-future one, as well?
