 Description

Items associated with Courses (as described below) will display in the Course Reserves Record view.

Individual item records include two types of fields:

Fields from Inventory

  • Item barcode
  • Title
  • Contributor
  • Permanent location
  • Call number
  • Volume
  • Copy
  • Enumeration
  • Status
  • Temporary location (editable in CR app)
  • Temporary loan type (editable in CR app)
  • URL/PDF link
  • (Status is omitted, as it would quickly become outdated if we copied it.)

Fields native to Course Reserve Items

  • Item Start date (editable in CR app)
  • Item End date (editable in CR app)
  • Processing status (controlled vocab) — e.g., “recalled”, “on order”, “in cataloging”
  • Copyright tracking % [check box]

If the Copyright Tracking box is checked, then the display includes the following fields:

  • Additional sections of this item used in this course [check box]
  • Copyright status [dropdown with authorized value list default values of “Fair use | Copyright in process | Copyright paid]
  • Total number of pages in item [free text]
  • Total number of pages used [free text]
  • Total % of pages used [free text]
  • Payment based on [free text]

I edited the text here to put back some of the formatting lost in the move from the Google Doc.

Checking this against the mockup ...

Kelly Drake Please confirm that "Copyright status [dropdown with authorized value list default values of “Fair use | Copyright in process | Copyright paid]" is the replacement for the mockup's "This item fall under fair use" and "Copyright paid" checkboxes?

"Payment based on" is described here as free text, but shown in the mockup as a dropdown. Which is correct? (If the latter, what are the possible values?)

Kelly Drake Please respond to the previous comment ---^ — I will need this for tomorrow's work.

"Payment based on" is as described here = free text . Not a dropdown as in the mockup's.

Apologies for the delay : (

No problem at all, I nudged you as soon as it began to become inconvenient

And "Copyright status [dropdown with authorized value list default values of “Fair use | Copyright in process | Copyright paid]" is the replacement for the mockup's "This item fall under fair use" and "Copyright paid" checkboxes? (I am about 95% sure I remember reaching this conclusion during one of our meetings, but I don't think I wrote it down — or, if I did, I can't find it.)

Kurt Nordstrom A reminder that this issue will be ready for me to complete as soon as we have expanded objects for copiedItem.temporaryLocationId, copiedItem.temporaryLoanTypeId and copyrightTracking.copyrightStatusId or when you tell me that these are not going to be added (in which case I will go ahead and add the relevant client-side fetches for the linked objects). Until then I am stymied.

Do you have a Jira issue for this, that I can block the present one on?

Comment by Mike Taylor [ 03/Jan/20 ]

Kurt Nordstrom Note, still awaiting expansion of copiedItem.temporaryLocationId, copiedItem.temporaryLoanTypeId and copyrightTracking.copyrightStatusId!

(Kurt Nordstrom The last couple of comments relate to the priority list I sent you on Slack.)

Comment by Mike Taylor [ 27/Jan/20 ]

I created MODCR-9 Closed to capture the server-side work that this issue depends on.

URL/PDF link - > not in developer data - but it is the item record

See the "Texas Roundup" course and item with barocde 0114400078841 (record updated to include access information)

Kelly Drake I tried to find a URL/PDF link for Microcomputer information for school media centers / edited by Nevada Wallis Thomason (barcode 0114400078841) at https://simmons.folio-dev.indexdata.com/inventory/view/3a3a80c5-372c-4989-89a9-e4b0dddeae9b?qindex=item.barcode&query=0114400078841 but I could not locate it. Please advise.

Kelly Drake Please guide me on the URL/PDF link matter.

(Hopefully the records won't be reloaded between now and the time you get to this!)

When adding an item, that is an electronic resource with a url to a course reserve, the item's URL and Link text to the Reserve "URL/PDF Link" field.
This is currently not happening.

Steps to recreate. (or see an example)

In the Course: Antelope taming: https://simmons-test-cr.hosted-folio.indexdata.com/cr/courses/bec298ca-b973-47fa-a79d-5b106a29b21e?

Scroll down to the item "Anti-oppressive practice in health and social care / Viola Nzira and Paul Williams."

For funzies: using the item's barcode it00000118860 add it to the course - creating an entry without the URL.

Thank you, this example is exactly what I need.

Comment by Mike Taylor [ 03/Mar/20 ]

(Note to self: the electronic-resource part of this is now its own issue, UICR-48 Closed .)

Comment by Mike Taylor [ 03/Mar/20 ]

Turns out MODCR-9 Closed is still blocking this.

Comment by Mike Taylor [ 13/Mar/20 ]

I think that at some time in the last week, the final part of this slid into place. I am placing it in review.

Comment by Kelly Drake [ 13/Mar/20 ]

I'm closing this - there are some (variable) issues with Item display - but those are now in separate JIRAs. The bulk of the function is magnificent!
