 Description

Overview: UPDATE 27.07 JB after further discussion/research:
There are two kinds of transit slips:
1) Prompted by a requester, e.g. after a request from a different location.
2) Unprompted, e.g. after an item is returned to a different location.

I suspect this bug to be scenario 2), where the Requester information would indeed therefore be Undefined, if the same staff slip template is used in both scenarios. I am currently testing to confirm this suspicion.

Steps to Reproduce: [Reproduced in Juniper Bug Fest]

  1. Check in the item: LEH-202004091106
  2. Print the transit slip

Expected Results: Requester information is filled out
Actual Results: Requester information is empty + bar code = undefined

Support - believes that this would impact all libraries. Anton Emelianov I am unable to assign release - it should be in Bugfix release for Juniper

julie.bickle, which patron did you use on Juniper Bug Fest as a requestor?

I tried to reproduce the same scenario on snapshot and got filled requestor information for my test patron:

Hi Roman Barannyk - I get it when I check in an item. The status is now in transit to it's original location - so I guess it's normal that the requester information is empty, as in this case, there is indeed no requester.

I'm wondering if it's possible to use a different template for this kind of slip - I'll check with the community today. Scratch that - I see there is one, and only one, transit slip template possible.

julie.bickle, does that mean that it works correctly? Because when I created a page request and then I checked the item out - I got the requestor information filled for my test patron. If no requests - there is no requestor information.

Roman Barannyk If the empty + "undefined" under the bar code is as per design, then yes, I'd say it works correctly, technically.

It feels ugly for the library worker, though. Maybe food for a new feature.

julie.bickle we discussed this issue at the Vega stand up today, and we agreed it's a bug (not really new feature work). We also moved it to UI-CHKIN since that's where this slip is generated. I downgraded it to a P3 since it's not causing any real difficulties in workflow. It's simply inconvenient and slightly confusing! Vega is still planning to address this as part of the R3 release.

Alina Dorosh I've tested it and confirm it works as per the evidence.

julie.bickle Will this fix be in Kiwi or in Juniper Hot Fix 1?

Comment by Stephanie Buck [ 01/Sep/21 ]

Hi Debra Howell. Julie is on vacation. To my knowledge, this is not slated to be included with Juniper hotfix 1 and will be included in the Kiwi release.
