 Description

Purpose: An ad hoc report, to be run on demand. Check, if values were entered syntactically correct., e.g.: URL (MARC 856), name space for URN, DOI, Handle etc.

This task could instead be solved as a build in control feature when editing a record in Inventory. A check, when saving the created Instance record. The check for values being entered syntactically correct, would generate a warning message/an error message, and prevent that a record could be saved, if these data was not correct entered in the Instance record. MARCcat probably has similar control features (Charlotte will follow up with Tiziana)

This should not happen in inventory. Order in inventory is not presecribed by order in MARC. We would want to be able to run validation reports in the Library Data Platform reference implementation.

Hi Kristin Martin - thanks for your comments above. Please notice that the list of In app reports for Inventory were defined by the Reporting SIG before anyone knew of the MARCcat as an MARC catologuing app. The list of In-app report stories, need to be defined in detail and requirement spec'ed further by the MM-SIG and the MM-SIG POs (Tiziana, Charlotte, Ann-Marie). So the list is for the moment, more to think of as a parking lot

The MM-SIG are planning to review all In-app reports together with some of the Reporting SIG members at one of the upcoming MM-SIG meetings (hopefully in May)

Hi Tiziana Possemato - would it be okay that I reassign this to you, and this get's to be a In-app report for MARCcat.
It was kind of assigned to Inventory, when we didn't knew about MARCcat.
