 Description

Overview:
When the bulk edit is triggered with a large data set (10k records) there is a significant delay in populating - "Are you sure?" screen without providing any visual clue to the user that the records are being retrieved.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. In Morning Glory bugfest, trigger the bulk edit of items records using attached file
  2. After the preview of matched records is displayed, select the Start bulk edit option from the Action menu
  3. On the in-app form, change the status to withdrawn and clear the temporary location, click the Confirm changes button

Expected Results:
Once the forms opens, it displays the list of affected records with applied changes
and user can save the list of records
Actual Results:
Are you sure form is empty and displays message that 0 records will be updated. After several minutes the form is populated correctly and user can also save list of records.

Additional Information:
Note that the issue cannot be recreated with the consecutive bulk edits triggered with the same file.

This ticket we be reviewed and estimated after MODEXPW-255 Closed is done.

Comment by Magda Zacharska [ 28/Oct/22 ]

The issue does not exist for user and items records anymore but still occurs for holdings.

Magda Zacharska - please check the video ice_video_20221031-105944.webm from snapshot environment where it takes no more than 2 seconds to display correct message in "Are you sure" form and let us know whether it is sufficient.

Hi Oleksandr Bozhko- there is still a moment that the message stating that 0 records will be updated is visible. The expected behavior should be that after the progress bar completes the accurate number of records is displayed. Is this UI or BE issue?

Comment by Uladislau Samets [ 03/Nov/22 ]

Magda Zacharska message with 0 records should be fixed on UI side. We already fixed that in UIBULKED-150 Closed but looks like something changed

Uladislau Samets do we need a separate Jira for the UI work or this story should be moved to ui-bulk-edit? Also I noticed a similar behavior on the confirmation screen in bugfest environment: UIBULKED-174 Closed

Uladislau Samets - if this is UI issue - should this ticket be moved back to ui-bulk-edit or it require a new ticket? If the latter, please create it and link it to this story.

Magda Zacharska I created UIBULKED-176 Closed to resolve the issue with an incorrect message
