 Description

Purpose: Record edit page of search based-modules should always have own URLs so the page can be bookmarked or opened in a new tab for multi-tasking. Mike suggested in UIIT-46 Closed that this should be filed as a generic issue and linked up to STRIPES-462 Closed .

Acceptance criteria:

  • When a search-based module is created, the record edit page will automatically get its own URL
  • In all existing search-based modules, all record edit pages should have own URLs. At the time of writing, this would include: Requests, Users, Inventory. Inventory may be more complicated because, from this app, you can edit Instances, Items and Holdings.

Should this one also be assigned to Zak Burke? Seems very related to the others he is working on (see links in this issue).

This was fixed some time ago – sorry the issue didn't get closed. For example, I am editing a users on folio-testing right now, and the URL is http://folio-testing.aws.indexdata.com/users/view/fab4077b-3f2d-4c5b-baf0-c3225bf9972d?filters=active.Active&layer=edit&query=&sort=Name – note the layer=edit part. If you open that URL in your browser, you'll go straight to the edit form.

Great! Yes it works. Now we only need to get that edit icon to behave like a link so you can right click and open in new tab. I've entered STCOM-167 Closed for that part.
